Special 30-Hour Tai Chi Chuan & Gi Gong Training and Exam

This training and exam is only open to those who are continuing an education in health, such as in acupuncture or other medical licenses.

After completing the 30-hour training and passing the exam, we will offer the student a reference letter to apply for certification licenses. If you are interested in the class and exam, please contact us for more information and see below for an example:

New Jersey Tai Chi Association Tai Chi Level Exam Requirements

Section 1. New Jersey Tai Chi Association (NJTCA), in order to enhance Tai Chi technique and theory with the goal to achieve continuous studies and promote Tai Chi, will hold Tai Chi Level Examinations for members. NJTCA will make the final decision on any disputes or questions related to rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding the Tai Chi Level Examinations.

Section 2. The Tai Chi exam has 9 total levels. NJTCA members must have study and practiced Tai Chi for at least one year with NJTCA before they can take the first level exam in order to obtain the first level certificate. Members must practice for at least one year before taking the next level exam. Existing members of NJTCA who have previously represented NJTCA in competitions or participated in performances may apply to skip a level.

Section 3. Exam takers must pass skills exam sections, please refer to Section 5 for more detail. Members who have successfully passed the first to fifth level must either retest their knowledge of Tai Chi technique and theory or test for a higher level within the next 2 years or the current exam certificate will expire.

Skill test: The total score is 100, the passing score is 60.

Section 4. Exam takers of the seventh to ninth level must have at least 3 years Tai Chi coaching experience, deep understanding of the martial arts through research and practice of Tai Chi technique, and promote and contribute to the Tai Chi community.

Section 5. Exam time and content:

Skill testing: Information on the time and content requirements for each level is in the table below.

Section 6. Skill testing:

1. Perform entire Tai Chi form from beginning to end in order to pass the exam.

2. Perform entire Tai Chi form within the time limit specified in Section 5. Performances that do not exceed the minimum time requirement will not pass.

3. Foundations of Tai Chi standing must be correct, and balance must be kept when kicking or lifting leg. Small errors are deducted 3 points, serious errors are deducted 10 points.

4. Every movement must be connected to the next movement within 3 seconds. If over 3 seconds, then 2 points are deducted. Maximum deduction of 5 points in one form.

5. Performance must follow the original form, 3 points are deducted for each movement added or omitted.

6. If the exam taker forgets a movement of a form and cannot continue, he/she can ask to try one more time from the beginning with no point deduction. If the exam taker still cannot complete the form, then the exam taker will not be passed.

Section 8. The exam’s application form must be filled out clearly, with two 2" photos and exam fee. More information about exam’s date and other details will be published on the NJTCA website.

Section 9. Exam takers waiting for their turn must remain quite while others are taking the exam or performing. If exam takers seriously hinder and disrupts the exam taking place, the exam taker may be dismissed and disqualified from the exam.

Section10. The Tai Chi Level Exams are for members of NJTCA only. Non-members must apply to become a member of NJTCA first before they can apply to take the Exam.

新澤西太極協會太極段位鑒定規範

第一條:新澤西太極協會(以下簡稱NJTCA)﹐為提高會員太極技藝與理論﹐並達到持續學習與晉階之目的﹐特訂本規範。同時NJTCA對本規範有補充與解釋之主權。

第二條:套路鑒定共分為九段。學習滿一年者始可申請一段鑒定﹐通過鑒定取得證書第二年﹐可申請二段鑒定﹐依此類推。曾代表NJTCA出賽有良好成績﹐或對NJTCA之社區活動有卓越貢獻者﹐經核准後可申請越級鑒定。

第三條:鑒定一段至六段段位者﹐考試達及格分數﹐則由NJTCA頒發段位證書。為保證太極技藝與理論不致退化﹐一段至五段段位通過鑒定者﹐2年內需復訓同段位鑒定﹐或進階至更高段位。否則原頒發之段位證書﹐將屆滿而無效。

套路鑒定﹕滿分為100分﹐及格分為60分。

第四條:凡獲得六段以上﹐晉階至七段至九段高段位者。需有三年教學資歷﹐並具備崇高武德﹑精研太極拳理論並發佈﹑對太極拳發展有巨大貢獻者﹐經書面資料審核後評定其段位。

第五條:鑒定時間與內容﹕

套路鑒定﹕每一段位均需依照下表所列動作數量完成﹐及演練完成不得少於最短時間之規定。

第六條:鑒定要點及遵守事項﹕

1.需獨自將套路演練完成﹐無法完成者視為未通過鑒定。

2.套路演練時間短於測試段位最短時間﹐視為未通過鑒定。其演練時間與動作數量﹐參照本規範第五條所列。

3.基本功法及站樁需到位﹐踢﹑分腳時上身不能晃動。輕微錯誤者扣3分﹐嚴重錯誤者最高可扣至10分。

4.連貫動作不能停頓超過3秒﹐停頓超時扣2分, 多次停頓超時最多可扣至5分。

5.演練套路過程中﹐不能加添或遺漏申報之原套路動作﹐如有上述情節出現﹐每處扣3分, 可連續扣分。

6.如有遺忘套路動作﹐可請求重作一次不扣分。重作後仍然遺忘套路動﹐視為未通過鑒定。

第七條:鑒定規費及段位證書工本費﹐參照下表﹐如有調整不另行通知。

第八條:需詳實填寫段位鑒定申請書﹐附2英寸像片2張﹐及鑒定規費。並隨時注意NJTCA網站﹐所發佈之鑒定與報名日期。

第九條:尚未成為NJTCA會員者﹐需先提出入會申請﹐經審核通過後﹐始能申請段位鑒定。
